I offer gateways to other worlds through meditation, cycling, Tai Chi, and my writing
Meditation, Cycling, Tai Chi, and Yoga
I was trained in Tai Chi in Paul Lam's method. I have taught Tai Chi and yoga, both standing and seated. I am a certified yoga teacher through the Yoga Center of Minneapolis. I have been a speaker for the Arthritis Fundation on Tai Chi for Arthritis. I taught both Tai Chi and standing and seated yoga at Sabes Jewish Community Center and now teach virtually.
I meditate using Dr. Joe Dispenza's method of working with brain waves. I've been meditating using this method for about four years. After two weeks of practicing it, I no longer had to use the walker, and I was hooked. A little while later I added Jeremy James' stable spine approach which helped enormously.
I learned the Bengston method of information-based energy healing in August of 2020. I practice daily.
I love the boost both meditation and Tai Chi give to the Bengston cycling method.
I offer free virtual sessions where we practice meditation + hyper cycling and Tai Chi / Qigong + cycling. Contact me
My writing
You can find my books on Amazon, either by checking out My author page or the individual books:
My work has worn awards including Outstanding Secondary Science Books for AIDS: Examining the Crisis.
My short stories, essays and articles have appeared in magazines, newspapers and books, online and hard copy.
A bit of the vitae:
I'm a graduate of Old Dominion University, where I earned a B.A. and studied with Gordon Ball and Gail Godwin, and The University of Alabama’s MFA in Creative Writing Program where I studied with Margaret Atwood, Don Hendrie, Jr., Hank Lazer, and Thomas Rabbitt.
I taught a writing course on the topic of psychological descent at the University of Minnesota and in North Carolina.
I've worked in technology for over 10 years, spending time in both India and China. I've worked with coworkers and customers in China, India, Mexico, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand and the emirate of Dubai. Currently I work as content developer for software training.
I live with my husband Tom in Savage, MN, also where my fav library is located, Savage Library. After several years volunteering there, I applied for and was offered my dream job, a substitute library associate. I performed my duties for about a month before COVID19 shut the library's doors. Last month I received the good news the county was bringing us back, and now I stand at the ready to return as a library sub. The librarians and staff I've met and come to know at the Savage library inspire me to write a musical about the secret lives of librarians. Maybe someday.
